Special Education Needs and Disabilities and Inclusion

Special Education Needs and Disabilities and Inclusion

Through quality first teaching, our goal is for each child to achieve their best, no matter what their starting point; however, we are very aware that at some time in their education, children may need additional support to do this.

We offer support and a high level of challenge and our children are continually encouraged to reflect on their own learning and are supported to set targets for improvement.

All pupils have full access to the curriculum and the school has good support from a wide range of outside agencies including Educational Psychology,  Children’s Services, Doncaster School Nursing Team, Hearing Impairment Support Team, Visual Impairment Support Team, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists, Autism and Social Communication Education Team, Health Visitors, other settings etc.

Our Special Educational Needs and Disabilities Coordinator (SENDCo) is Miss Kira Nithsdale and is contactable via the school office and our governor with responsibility for Inclusion and Additional Needs is Mr Jonathan Bucknall (Vice Chair).

Should you wish to contact our SENDCo or SEND Governor, please contact the school office on 01302 852200 or via email to make an appointment.

We also have a wider SEND team in school, who may support you with referrals, classroom support etc. This team includes Mrs Candace Berry, as our Parent Liaison / Inclusion Manager and Mrs Lindsay Rush, who is our Inclusion Assistant who manages SEN meetings etc. Should you need to speak to these staff, please also contact the school office.
