Governors

Governors at Warmsworth Primary School

Governors make a real difference in helping Warmsworth Primary School provide the best possible education for the children.  Together with the leadership team they help to lead the school, setting the vision and establishing the right culture to drive forward improvement to ensure the best life chances are secured for every child.  They make a contribution to the leadership of the school and are involved in strategic planning.  Acting as a ‘critical friend’, Governors offer support and constructive advice to the school and review progress. 

The internal organisation day-to-day management and control of the school and the implementation of the strategic framework is the responsibility of the Headteacher.

As a Local Authority maintained school, we have a board of dedicated school governors. 

Our Governing Body consists of:

• Two Parent Governors (appointed by parents)
• One Local Authority Governor (appointed by the LA)
• One Staff Governor (appointed by staff at the school)
• Nine Co-opted Governors (appointed by the full governing board)
• Headteacher (ex-officio) 

Our board of governors is led by our Chair of Governors, Mrs Jane McDermott, and our Vice Chair of Governors, Mr Jonathan Bucknall.
