Outdoor learning

Outdoor Learning at Warmsworth Primary School

Our wonderful learning environment also lends itself to outdoor learning, both to support curriculum subjects and also teach the children about horticultural and care for the environment. Our school quad, poly-tunnel, woodland area and school grounds offer many opportunities and experiences to explore. 

One of our fantastic members of staff is currently training to be a Forest School leader and all our chidlren will be engaged in woodland learning sessions outdoors for at least 3 half-terms per year.

W As with all clothing and footwear, we request that your child's name is written on these items.

The children require their outdoor clothing (wellingtons and a suitable coat - with names in please) on the following days:

Foundation 1 (Nursery) - Muddy Monday

Foundation 2 (Reception) - Welly Wednesday

Year 1 - Forest Friday

Year 2 to 6 - Children will be advised when they require any additional clothing for outdoor learning based on the half-termly rota. 

To ensure your child has appropriate clothing for these activities, wellingtons may be left at school.
