Year 4 South Yorkshire Cricket Finals

Our Year 4 cricket team progressed to the South Yorkshire finals after being crowned Doncaster champions. They represented Doncaster in the regional finals. Nine teams took part in total. The children were split into three groups for the morning with the winner of each group progressed to the first place play-off. We won both of our morning matches scoring over 100 runs in each game. This meant we were through the play for first place. A close, tense match saw us lose by 2 runs - the only match we lost all day. The children had to show great strength in character to pick themselves up after this defeat to play their final match to decide whether they placed in the silver or bronze position. Outstanding determination was showed by all the children as they dominated their final match to secure the silver medal. Congratulations to all children who took part in the event. We are extremely proud of everyone! We placed second for the whole of South Yorkshire - a fantastic result!
