Year 1 New Starter

This morning Year 1 welcomed a new starter, a Giant Afrian snail. Our snail is actually an Achatina Immaculata Pantherea and its shell is approximately 3cm in length. We have create a home using moss and coir so that he can bury himself as he will want to sleep during the day as most snails as nocturnal. There is special snail food and cuttlefish so that he gets all the nutrients he needs and especially calcium that is needed to grown the shell and keep it health. Our snail has spent the afternoon exploring its new habitat and having some food and drink. We can't wait to watch him explore some more and see how he grows.
