Year 3 Parent session healthy eating 8.5.25
Date: 9th May 2025 @ 4:11pm
Yesterday, year 3 welcomed parents to our healthy eating session. We explored our science topic of a balanced diet and linked it to our English and personal learning. We have been following an inspiring adventurer who happens to be from Doncaster. Year 3 have been following the veteran and triple amputee, Craig Wood as he sails solo from Mexico to Japan to raise funds and awareness for fellow veterans and those affected by trauma. We discussed what food Craig might take on his 80 day journey that would sustain him and keep him fit and healthy. The children are really enjoying following Craig's journey and we cannot wait to see when he arrives in Japan. The children have written some questions that they would like to ask Craig, we will be sending these off and keeping our fingers crossed for a reply!
These were the questions year 3 voted to send to Craig.
What did you find most challenging?
If you could choose 3 other places to sail where would you choose?
What is the first thing you are going to do when you return to Doncaster?
What wildlife did you see on your trip?
Would you do it again and if so, would you do anything differently?
How did it feel sailing by yourself?
What is the first thing you are going to do when you get to Japan?
How do you make the boat safe while you sleep?
Have you sailed through a storm? If so, how did it make you feel?
How do you cook while the boat is moving?
