Y2 Visit to Lotherton Hall
Date: 14th Jun 2025 @ 1:38pm
Year 2 had a fantastic week, starting with our school's first ever visit to Lotherton Hall. The children took part in a workshop where they met Florence Nightingale and learned all about her life - they even got to fix up a few wounded teddies! We also had a tour of Lotherton's onsite conservation area, Wildlife World, where the children got to see many different animals and birds. They all got a shock when the wandering peacock made his presence known with a very loud greeting! The penguins were a particular hit with all of the children, but Mrs McBride came away with a soft spot for Garson the armadillo!
In other news, 2JM won the attendance award again on Friday. As a reward, the children earned an extra playtime which we had in the leafy shade of the woodland where it was nice and cool on such a hot day. They had fun making dens, building little houses for ladybirds and playing hide and seek. We also saw the phenomenal work of the white moths who have spun a silk 'net' over some of the trees to protect the hundreds of chrysalides that are waiting to emerge.
