Our Curriculum at Warmsworth Primary School:
Our curriculum at Warmsworth Primary School is broad and balanced, with the aim to equip all pupils with the knowledge and skills they need to be valuable citizens of the 21st Century.
We carefully scaffold their learning to develop their academic knowledge, skills and understanding; develop their personal , and social skills, and support their emotional and physical well-being so that every child can achieve their future potential.
At Warmsworth Primary School, we aim to provide all of our children with a wide and varied curriculum, both within and beyond the school day, which allows them to not only have as many experiences as possible, but helps them to be engaged and actively involved in their education.
Each term, the teachers plan exciting areas of learning for each year group based on the National Curriculum requirements and beyond. Each area of learning is based around a text and other subject areas are woven into this, where possible, to create a meaningful context to the children’s learning through a theme.
Our curriculum is personalised to our school, and we go way beyond the expectations of the National Curriculum.
We enhance our children’s learning through our high quality learning environment, offering opportunities beyond the classroom, including outdoor learning in our woodland area and gardening activities.
We want all our children to have high self esteem, high expectations and high aspirations for themselves. We are committed to developing these through our day to day learning, through our extensive PSHCE Curriculum, our introduction of Oxfam’s Global Citizenship Curriculum throughout school and our commitment to raising aspirations for all pupils through developing enterprise skills and careers education.
Warmsworth Primary School prides itself on it's cross curricular and creative curriculum.
