Crucial Crew 2023 2022 - 2023

Mrs Brammer

Mr Anderson

Mrs Roe

We have had the most informative day at the Lifewise Centre.  A day of packed with learning about how to keep ourselves and our communities safe.  The day was filled with knowledge that will help us make safe choices now and for the rest of our lives.

We learnt about:

  • Hate and knife crime
  • Mock trial in a youth court
  • Water safety
  • Arson
  • Home safety (fire)
  • Road safety
  • Travel safety
  • Child ctiminal exploitation

We were informed that much of the crime and inappropriate behaviour commited by young children is done so when there is pressure from others.  We know that this is peer-pressure and we discussed startegies of how to cope with peer-pressure.  We were reminded of the age of criminal repsonsibilty (10) and that this meant that, if we committed a crime, we would be arrested and taken to a police station where a decision would be made about the next steps.  We learnt that it is possible for a person our age to go to a youth prison.  After seeing a prison cell, we've all decided that's a place to avoid!

There were so many messages to remember, all equally as important as the others, but remember NEVER charge any electrical items overnight!!!!
